I was personally attacked by an IT staff member of a very popular, multi-city law firm. My only provocation was the direct marketing material we use that calls to question a prospect’s satisfaction with their current outsourced IT provider. My experience begs a question to you: do you know how your staff are treating people they interact with in the course of doing firm business for you?

Hands down, I have the best staff in the IT biz! They bend over backwards everyday to make sure the people they interact with feel as if they are the most important people to them – our Culture requires it.

With most of us using Facebook these days, hackers and attackers are tricking people everyday into giving up their usernames and passwords by sending fake Friend requests. On February 8, 2016, to help educate our followers, we posted this example from one of our real Friends.

On January 26, 2016 we asked our followers the following question:

Interestingly only 16% of respondents would have done what our Cyber Security experts suggested their answer to the question:

This is a Cyptolocker virus that encrypts and make unreadable many types of files that are accessible from your computer.

On February 2, 2016 we thought we would test our followers knowledge of how to react to phishing emails. We asked this question:

Although we were happy to see that nearly 50% of followers would delete it and move on, what did concern us is that almost 20% of our respondents would call the company.

I just met up with one of our customers the other day who is just loving Office 365. His exact words were “if I only knew a couple years ago what I know today I would’ve hopped on office 365 that much sooner”. Office 365 is an incredible scenario for most small businesses and law firms.

How many people will use Office 365? How many licenses do you need?

One of the very first questions you have to ask yourself before migrating to Office 365 is “how many licenses do I need?” You would think this is a very straightforward question to answer.

Surfing the Internet, reading your email or just using your computer is dangerous. You need all kinds of electronic prophylactics to be safe. Antivirus, antimalware, web filtering, firewalls, spam filters, security patches, and system lockdowns to name a few are required to stay secure.

We have done a lot of Office 365 Migrations over the past few years. There are two things I tell every customer at the very beginning of a project:

At some point during this project, I will NOT be your favorite person
We WILL come across something unique that is going to require some additional work

And, you know what? I’ve never been wrong! Each Office 365 migration has resulted in finding some quirk – some unexpected technical problem – that we have to get around.

I have a confession. I’m a tech geek. I don’t wear it on my sleeve. But I can’t always hide it. Nowhere does that come through more clearly than my wrist.
