Some time ago, the FCC was kind enough to put together a decent Cybersecurity planning tool for all to use. As with anything it takes quite a bit of work to employ but with enough work, it’s a pretty good start.
Wednesday we received the following email from one of our law firm followers. The email was forwarded to Warren County (Ohio) Bar members by the Bar and is from someone at the Ohio Supreme Court. The Supreme Court's source is MS-ISAC, the Multi-State Information Sharing and Analysis Center and is a reliable source for the current Cyber-threat level and response recommendations.
With most of us using Facebook these days, hackers and attackers are tricking people everyday into giving up their usernames and passwords by sending fake Friend requests. On February 8, 2016, to help educate our followers, we posted this example from one of our real Friends.
On January 26, 2016 we asked our followers the following question:

On February 2, 2016 we thought we would test our followers knowledge of how to react to phishing emails. We asked this question:

Although we were happy to see that nearly 50% of followers would delete it and move on, what did concern us is that almost 20% of our respondents would call the company.
Surfing the Internet, reading your email or just using your computer is dangerous. You need all kinds of electronic prophylactics to be safe. Antivirus, antimalware, web filtering, firewalls, spam filters, security patches, and system lockdowns to name a few are required to stay secure.
